“World Anesthesia Day ” was celebrated on 16th October 2016 in Kathmandu. All SAN life members were invited for the program.

The program was successfully conducted with welcome speech from Dr Binita Acharya, SAN General Secretary and Dr Sangeeta Shrestha.

 The topic  on “History of anesthesia in the World: Its progress and updates in Nepal” was presented by Prof Dr Moda Nath Marhatta. It was followed by highlighting on “Late Tirtharaj Singh Suwal Gold Medal” by Dr Sujita Manandha and medal for 2016 (academic year 2072-73 BS) was awarded to Dr Manisha Shahi who secured highest marks in MD anesthesiology examination. She was given by Dr Kamala Suwal on this occasion.

Life member Certificates were distribution to new members of SAN by President of SAN, Prof Dr Resham Bahadur Rana). Updates and progress about Journal of Society of Anaesthesiologists of Nepal (JSAN) was done by  Dr Aburba Sharma, Executive Editor of JSAN. It was followed by release of new September 2016 Issue by Prof Dr Bishwas Pradhan.

Announcement of the winner of John Sandison Research Grant was done and issued cheque to Dr Priska Bastola.
